Tradition: Discovered by Scottish adventurer, Robert Bruce in 1823, who noticed wild tea plants cultivated by the local Singpho tribe in India's Brahmaputra Valley. This discovery broke the Chinese tea monopoly, leading the British to establish the first commercial tea company in 1839.
