Tradition: Known as zhu cha (pearl tea) in China, originating in the Zhejiang province during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). The tea leaves are tightly rolled into small, grayish-green pellets, a method that preserves freshness & was historically designed to protect the leaves during transportation, making it a popular export and a favorite for soldiers.
