Tradition: Originating in the 17th to 19th centuries, Russian Caravan is named after the 16-month, 10,000-kilometer camel caravan journeys that transported tea from China to Russia. Historically a blend of Chinese black teas—typically Keemun, Oolong, & Lapsang Souchong, the distinct smoke flavor comes from smoke from campfire fires made by traders to keep warm.
